Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and leading the implementation of scalable SaaS solutions, overseeing full software development lifecycle, ensuring best practices, and collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality, secure, and modern software products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable, secure SaaS application architecture.
- Lead a development team through the full software development lifecycle, including deployment and support.
- Promote and enforce best practices in software engineering, including DevOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and automated testing.
- Oversee modernization, maintenance, and migration of legacy applications with minimal disruption.
- Ensure compliance with SOC2 controls through secure development practices and evidence collection.
- Maintain high code quality standards through peer reviews and clean coding practices.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of applications.
- Contribute to architectural design and implement key initiatives for SaaS systems.
- Assess and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability, and analyze production issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of qualifying experience in software engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in SaaS application development.
- Working knowledge of VB.NET along with proficiency in multiple programming languages is highly preferred, especially C#, React, Node.js, Python, and TypeScript.
- Demonstrated ability to architect, design, build, and integrate frontend user interfaces, backend services, and APIs.
- Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, cloud computing, APIs, deprecating services, and DevOps practices such as CI/CD and source control Git.
- Experience with implementing and maintaining SOC2 type 2 certification in SaaS products is preferred.
- Ability to contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, robust, and secure application architecture under the guidance of the Director of Software Engineering.
- Experience leading a team of developers through the full software development lifecycle from design and development to deployment and ongoing support of SaaS products.
- Experience overseeing modernization efforts, including maintenance and migration of legacy applications with minimal disruption to existing customers.
- Ability to embed evidence collection, access management, and secure development processes into daily workflows to ensure compliance with SOC2 controls.
- Ability to set high standards for code quality by modeling clean, maintainable coding practices and guiding peer reviews.
- Experience working across teams to ensure seamless integration and successful deployment of applications.
- Ability to assist in architectural design of SaaS software systems and implement key architectural initiatives as directed.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mandatory completion of online skills assessments through Karat, including a 15-minute assessment measuring proficiency in Algorithms, Data Structures, and Back-end, and a one-hour technically based interview.
