Job Description

This position is a senior project management role responsible for leading large-scale design projects, managing client relationships, overseeing project teams, ensuring quality and compliance, and driving business development within the architecture and engineering sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop client relationships to secure future opportunities.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality to meet objectives.
  • Oversee design and documentation processes during construction.
  • Manage project risks and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate project teams, providing mentorship and ensuring best practices.
  • Facilitate communication with clients and internal teams, including meetings and documentation.
  • Implement project management tools and processes to enhance productivity and quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related degree
  • Minimum of 12 years related experience, including managing projects with construction budgets of 70 million dollars or more
  • Current Licensure (preferred)
  • LEED certification (preferred)
  • Capability of performing in a project management role for large or multiple projects and training project managers
  • Strong client leadership and project team management capability for large or multiple projects
  • Must possess strong business acumen
  • Ability to perform as a leader of authority, with expert level knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong technical knowledge, coordination skills and the ability to build a rapport with the project team and client
  • Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office, MS Project, Deltek Vision, Bluebeam as well as other data management software
  • Experience managing projects with construction budgets of 70 million dollars or more
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive client relations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ability to communicate design, construction, and other issues to clients in a clear and compelling way
  • Ability to develop a Partnering relationship with the client early in an engagement to establish shared expectations and provide clarity on how work will be performed
  • Ability to ensure appropriate client and internal communication including written project documentation
  • Ability to lead project teams to develop project goals, work plans, and achieve quality, budget, schedule, innovation, and profitability objectives
  • Experience facilitating the development, evolution, and management of work plans, budgets, and schedules, preferably using MS Project and Deltek Project Planning
  • Experience managing design and documentation processes and implementation during construction
  • Ability to maintain project records, including capturing and documenting key decisions within standard file structures
  • Accountability for risk mitigation and compliance, including developing and managing a risk management plan
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all team members and generate a positive team environment
  • Ability to implement company methods, process expectations, standards, tools, templates, and technology to achieve quality and productivity
  • Ability to manage and coordinate workload of team members and provide leadership
  • Ability to communicate client objectives clearly to team members
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentoring to team members
  • Ability to identify and share lessons learned with teams
  • Ability to be a proactive resource in decision-making and developing technically sound, innovative solutions
  • Ability to monitor work in progress and ensure adherence to best practice standards and procedures
  • Responsibility for ensuring all statutory requirements are achieved
  • Accountability for the QA/QC process and monitoring the technical quality of projects, including enforcing standards and requirements
  • Active participation in the QA/QC process
  • Ability to coordinate with Project Architect and Quality leader in planning work
  • Ability to negotiate contracts with project leadership, Business Practice Leader, and Legal Team
  • Ability to act as a mentor and train less experienced staff and project managers
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
