Job Description
This position is a senior project management role responsible for leading large-scale design projects, managing client relationships, overseeing project teams, ensuring quality and compliance, and driving business development within the architecture and engineering firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop client relationships to secure future opportunities.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and quality to meet objectives.
- Oversee design and documentation processes during construction.
- Coordinate and manage project team workload and activities.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and quality standards.
- Identify and mitigate project risks through risk management planning.
- Facilitate effective communication among clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Implement and enforce quality assurance and quality control processes.
- Mentor and train less experienced staff and project managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related degree required.
- Minimum of 12 years related experience, including managing projects with construction budgets of 70 million dollars required.
- Current Licensure preferred.
- LEED certification preferred.
- Capability of performing in a project management role for large or multiple projects and training project managers.
- Strong client leadership and project team management capability for large or multiple projects.
- Must possess strong business acumen.
- Ability to perform as a leader of authority, with expert level knowledge.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical knowledge, coordination skills and the ability to build a rapport with the project team and client is essential.
- Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office, MS Project, Deltek Vision, Bluebeam as well as other data management software is required.
- Experience managing projects with construction budgets of 70 million dollars or more.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive client relations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ability to communicate design, construction, and other issues to clients in a clear and compelling way.
- Experience developing and maintaining a partnering relationship with clients early in an engagement to establish shared expectations and clarify involvement of key stakeholders.
- Ability to ensure appropriate client and internal communication including written project documentation.
- Experience leading project teams to develop project goals and work plans, and achieve quality, budget, schedule, innovation, and profitability objectives.
- Experience facilitating the development, evolution, and management of work plan, budget, and schedule, preferably using MS Project and Deltek Project Planning.
- Experience managing design and documentation process and implementation of the design during the construction process.
- Ability to maintain project records, including capturing and documenting key decisions within the standard file structure.
- Accountability for risk mitigation and compliance, including developing a risk management plan and managing project risks.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with all team members and generate a positive team environment.
- Ability to implement CannonDesign Method using process expectations, best practices, reference standards, tools, templates, and technology.
- Experience managing and coordinating workload of team members and providing leadership of team activities.
- Ability to communicate client objectives clearly to team members and provide constructive feedback and mentoring.
- Ability to identify lessons learned and share them with teams.
- Proactive resource in decision-making processes and development of technically sound and innovative planning and design solutions.
- Regularly monitor work in progress to ensure best practice standards and procedures are being implemented.
- Responsible for ensuring all statutory requirements for the project are achieved.
- Accountable for the QA QC process, including monitoring technical quality and enforcing standards.
- Participate actively in the QAQC process and coordinate with the Project Architect and Quality leader in planning work.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
