This role involves leading the development, quality oversight, and coordination of technical documentation for large, complex education projects, ensuring compliance with codes and standards while guiding project teams through design and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, assembly, and quality oversight of technical documentation for large or multiple projects.
Manage and monitor integrated quality review processes across all disciplines.
Coordinate project staffing and schedule quality reviews for all disciplines.
Develop and implement strategies for continuous proactive quality engagement.
Guide the creation and updates of the Project Quality Plan and ensure phase milestone reviews.
Review and oversee the planning of each phase's drawing document deliverables and ensure compliance with technical standards.
Facilitate coordination among technical documentation, construction phases, and project teams to develop integrated solutions.
Support project teams in decision-making and innovative design solutions related to quality and technical standards.
Monitor project metrics and discipline coordination to identify and mitigate risks early.
Guide and mentor project staff to foster a culture of continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor degree in a relevant field required.
Minimum 12 years of related professional experience.
Experience includes 5 years in increasingly responsible roles in construction documentation on education projects.
At least 3 years in a responsible role in construction administration on large education projects.
Experience leading all technical aspects with production teams on large, complex projects of more than 200 million dollars in construction costs.
Must have experience designing, documenting, coordinating, and administering the construction of significant education projects.
Expertise in education market codes, standards, and familiarity with proven solutions to address conflicting requirements between building authorities, client needs, construction technologies, and insurance provisions.
Current Architectural Registration in the United States.
LEED accreditation preferred.
Must be able to lead large, complex, or multiple projects.
Strong subject matter expertise in technical aspects of construction documentation and administration.
Strong business acumen.
Demonstrated focus on quality.
Strong technical leadership with knowledge of building codes and requirements.
Ability to be client-facing with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong coordination skills and the ability to build rapport with the project team and client.
Familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management software.
