Job Description
The Program Manager will oversee and coordinate on-road development activities for autonomous vehicle testing, ensuring timely deployment, safety, and collaboration across engineering, operations, and stakeholder teams to support Aurora's self-driving technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate on-road development activities, including immediate deployment and long-term scheduling
- Ensure development activities are completed on time and properly documented
- Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, and customer teams to define project scopes, milestones, and priorities
- Lead dispatch team, driving stakeholder engagement to meet company goals
- Drive process improvements to enhance development readiness and operational efficiency
- Manage project planning, resource allocation, and scheduling for deployment
- Support daily dispatch operations and act as the point of contact for emergent issues and scheduling adjustments
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
- Communicate regularly with operations leadership and stakeholders
Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience in dispatch, fleet operations, or a related high-tempo scheduling environment.
- Experience overseeing testing and product deployments.
- Skilled in creating detailed operational workflows, processes, and planning models.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and the ability to make command decisions and take initiative.
- Strong judgment and communication skills, especially in high-pressure or time-sensitive situations.
- Conflict management and resolution experience.
- Flexibility to work during day, night, and/or weekend hours, including extended hours or holidays as needed.
- BA or BS degree or high school diploma/GED with equivalent practical experience.
- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholder groups or geographies.
- Deep understanding of risk analysis and management.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $83,000.00 - $120,500.00 per year
Work schedule: Flexible schedule with off-hour work, including nights, weekends, and extended hours during peak testing seasons
Work environment perks: Hybrid work environment requiring in-office presence at least 3 days per week
