Job Description
A Senior Construction Administration role responsible for leading project teams, overseeing construction contracts, managing risk mitigation, cost control, and ensuring quality on large healthcare and institutional projects, primarily through onsite presence and collaboration with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and administer construction contracts for large projects, focusing on constructability review, risk mitigation, and cost control.
- Act as the primary liaison between builder, client owner, and design teams.
- Develop and maintain the project Risk Assessment process during Construction Administration.
- Identify, communicate, and resolve project-related risks and issues proactively.
- Manage and coordinate the Construction Administration team and efforts, including onsite and remote activities.
- Review and interpret construction documents, field conditions, and coordinate work with consultants and the project team.
- Monitor construction progress, review site work, and prepare site visit reports.
- Lead the review and response to Requests for Information (RFIs), Submittals, and change proposals.
- Oversee tracking of document changes, reason codes, and cost impacts.
- Participate in resolving construction site problems and develop recommendations for changes.
- Review construction progress, advise on project completion status, and authorize payment applications.
- Lead the preparation of Certification of Substantial Completion and ensure adherence to safety and site procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field required.
- Minimum of 12 years relevant experience in the construction administration required.
- Institutional and or commercial project experience for at least the last 5 years required.
- Healthcare and Education Project experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical knowledge, coordination skills and the ability to build a rapport with the project team is essential.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam is required.
- Familiarity with the operation of construction management software Procore is required.
- Travel required for the position.
- Adhere to CannonDesign and construction site safety program requirements and work rules.
- Perform onsite presence at the project site in Rochester, MN, with consistent onsite work required.
- Work under the supervision of a Licensed Architect when required.
