Job Description

This position involves designing and overseeing plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems for large-scale buildings, providing technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team, and managing project development from schematic design to construction administration within a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee complex plumbing, fire protection, and ductwork systems for large-scale buildings.
  • Prepare Revit BIM models of construction drawings from schematic design to construction administration.
  • Specify equipment such as water heaters, plumbing fixtures, and pumping equipment.
  • Review and approve shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
  • Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
  • Participate in or lead value engineering sessions with the architectural and engineering team.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to design staff.
  • Interface with clients, project teams, and attend project meetings focusing on project scope and budget.
  • Respond to RFIs and review change orders during construction document preparation.
  • Represent the company in project activities, business development, and marketing efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience required.
  • Current CPD, PE in Mechanical or FPE in the United States preferred.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes.
  • Must be a critical thinker and highly analytical.
  • Must be able to work independently with no oversight or guidance.
  • Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to effectively handle multiple projects.
  • Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus required.
