Job Description
This position involves leading and managing interior design projects from concept to construction, providing creative and technical expertise, coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring staff to deliver innovative and compliant interior spaces across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and engage with clients and project teams to establish project goals and vision.
- Provide interior design leadership across multiple projects through all phases.
- Develop and coordinate interior design concepts, spatial requirements, and design development.
- Ensure project design work complies with codes, budget, and quality standards.
- Oversee the creation of design visualizations and develop furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) specifications.
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as architecture and engineering.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting for interior design components.
- Lead client meetings, maintain positive relationships, and present design concepts.
- Mentor less experienced interior design staff and promote design leadership.
- Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals, and punch list completion.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
- A minimum of 8 years of related experience required.
- Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
- Ability to provide interior design leadership across multiple projects.
- Strong design, storytelling, and technical skills as well as knowledge of building and life safety codes required.
- Exceptional presentation, organizational, team building, collaboration, and communication skills are a must.
- The ability to build and maintain client relationships is essential.
- Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
- Travel as required.
