Job Description

This position involves leading and managing interior design projects from concept to completion, including client engagement, design development, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and overseeing project execution to deliver innovative and compliant interior spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and engage with clients and project teams to establish project goals and vision.
  • Provide interior design leadership across multiple projects through all phases.
  • Develop and coordinate interior design concepts, ensuring code compliance and integration with other disciplines.
  • Review drawings and support functions to meet project time, budget, and quality constraints.
  • Oversee the development of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) specifications and coordination.
  • Mentor less experienced interior design staff and promote design leadership.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting for interior design components.
  • Lead client meetings and maintain positive client and team relationships.
  • Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals, and punch list completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or relevant field required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience required.
  • Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
  • Ability to provide interior design leadership across multiple projects.
  • Strong design, storytelling, and technical skills as well as knowledge of building and life safety codes required.
  • Exceptional presentation, organizational, team building, collaboration, and communication skills are a must.
  • The ability to build and maintain client relationships is essential.
  • Experience leading a high performing team is preferred.
  • Critical thinker and highly analytical.
  • Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Travel as required.
  • Must be able to conduct site visits, including physical walk-through of the site.
  • Must be able to lead and coordinate the development of interior design components, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE), throughout all project phases.
  • Must be able to evaluate client needs, analyze and effectively document design objectives and spatial requirements.
  • Must be able to review drawings and support functions in conformance with project time, budget, and quality constraints.
  • Must be able to coordinate work with other disciplines, including architecture, engineering, and consultants.
  • Must be able to assist or lead in project planning, development, and follow-through of work plans and budgeting.
  • Must be able to assist or lead client meetings and maintain positive client and team relations.
  • Must adhere to interior design standards used throughout all project phases.
  • Must participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, review of submittals and shop drawings, and conducting punch lists.
  • Must complete mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes and adhere to internal policies and the Code of Conduct.
