Job Description
This position involves leading electrical engineering projects for building construction, including design, project management, technical leadership, and site supervision, primarily in healthcare, education, and commercial sectors, with a focus on delivering high-quality, code-compliant electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical engineering systems design for building construction
- Develop project designs, goals, and systems
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering team members
- Lead or participate in project planning and engineering meetings
- Serve as project manager or engineering leader, managing project responsibilities and budgets
- Design electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems
- Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications
- Specify electrical equipment and guide less experienced team members in execution
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews of engineering documents
- Coordinate with project team to establish work plans, schedules, and ensure project delivery
- Participate in value engineering sessions and interface with clients and design team
- Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Oversee construction administration, including site visits and observation of construction progress
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience in electrical engineering.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering in the United States.
- Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices.
- Ability to serve in QAQC process and as an independent reviewer for electrical engineering documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to interface effectively with clients and members of the design team.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools.
