Job Description
This position involves leading architectural design projects from conceptualization through construction, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, mentoring professionals, and integrating sustainable and performance-based strategies to deliver innovative and client-focused built environment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the design process, translating ideas into built environment solutions and providing project design leadership.
- Conceptualize and develop design solutions throughout all project phases, ensuring they align with client goals and culture.
- Create and present design visualizations and materials to communicate design concepts effectively to clients and teams.
- Collaborate with interior designers, technical leaders, and engineers to integrate holistic and sustainable design strategies.
- Guide detailing and construction documentation in collaboration with project architects, and oversee design intent during construction.
- Mentor and develop emerging professionals within the design team.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master degree in Architecture required.
- Minimum 8 years of related professional experience required.
- Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Technical knowledge of exterior and interior materials and building assemblies.
- Must be a critical thinker.
- Must be highly analytical.
- Must be a fully qualified professional able to perform work with a high degree of latitude, with some ambiguity in work.
- Ability to coordinate multiple disciplines to achieve design intent.
- Command of Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office required.
- Experience with one or more real-time rendering and 3D rendering software such as Enscape, Twinmotion, and/or V-Ray required, as demonstrated through a portfolio of past and current visualization work.
- Experience with digital media creation and editing in the Adobe Creative Cloud applications required.
- Must have experience in conceptualizing design solutions and developing them throughout all phases of a project, including schematic design and design development.
- Must be able to create innovative design concepts that synthesize clients' culture, goals, and aspirations.
- Must be able to support senior design leaders by translating shared design goals and ideas for both team and client.
- Must be able to guide detailing and construction documentation in collaboration with project architects.
- Must be able to provide guidance on design intent during the construction administration phase.
- Must be able to prepare and direct the preparation of client presentation materials, including 2D and 3D visualizations.
- Must be able to lead design presentations when called upon.
- Must collaborate closely with interior designers and subject matter experts on holistic design solutions from exterior to interior.
- Must coordinate design intent with other disciplines and technical leaders, including engineers.
- Must integrate performance-based and sustainable design strategies into design solutions, including supporting energy modeling efforts.
- Must have experience applying design approaches in large-scale projects and/or multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must mentor and grow emerging professionals.
- Must complete mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes and adhere to internal policies and the Code of Conduct.
