Job Description
Assist in designing plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems for building projects, including BIM modeling, reviewing submittals, and supporting construction documentation under supervision within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform designs of uncomplicated piping and equipment selection for Plumbing Fire Protection systems under supervision
- Assist with HVAC system designs as needed
- Prepare Revit BIM models of construction drawings for plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems
- Edit specifications related to projects
- Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents
- Research assigned issues and respond to emergent problems
- Draft reports for review by a professional engineer
- Gather information and respond to RFIs and review change orders
- Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress
- Coordinate specific project activities
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience required.
- Current CPD, PE in Mechanical or FPE in the United States preferred.
- Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs, specifically Revit, required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
