Assist in designing plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems for building projects, including BIM modeling, reviewing submittals, and supporting construction documentation under supervision within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Perform designs of uncomplicated piping and equipment selection for Plumbing Fire Protection systems under supervision
Assist with HVAC system designs as needed
Prepare Revit BIM models of construction drawings for plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC systems
Edit specifications related to projects
Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents
Research assigned issues and respond to emergent problems
Draft reports for review by a professional engineer
Gather information and respond to RFIs and review change orders
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress
Coordinate specific project activities
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of related experience required.
Current CPD, PE in Mechanical or FPE in the United States preferred.
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs, specifically Revit, required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively handle multiple projects.
