This position involves designing and managing HVAC systems for various construction projects, including educational, healthcare, and commercial buildings, with responsibilities ranging from system layout and equipment selection to project supervision and client coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Design and specify HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment selection.
Assist with Plumbing and Fire Protection system designs as needed.
Supervise or manage projects within the mechanical discipline, monitoring progress and budgets.
Perform load calculations, system layout, and energy modeling for HVAC systems.
Create construction drawings and BIM models for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents.
Coordinate with clients and project team members, attending meetings and responding to RFIs and change orders.
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress.
Participate in construction meetings and site inspections.
Research and respond to emergent technical issues related to project design and execution.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program preferred.
Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
Current PE (Professional Engineer) license in the United States preferred.
LEED accreditation preferred.
Must possess a working knowledge and experience in engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
