Assist in the design and modeling of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for building projects under the supervision of a licensed engineer, contributing to various phases from schematic design to construction administration within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in designing HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, controls, and equipment selection, under supervision.
Support plumbing and fire protection system designs as needed.
Prepare building load calculations and energy models using modeling software under supervisory oversight.
Contribute to Revit BIM modeling of construction drawings for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documents.
Perform site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date.
Knowledge and ability to apply principles and theories of advanced heat transfer, solar energy, and advanced fluid dynamics in the design of HVAC systems.
Related student internship work experience preferred.
EIT (Engineer in Training) or LEED accreditation preferred.
Must have strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Trane Trace, or Trane 3D Plus preferred.
