Job Description
The position is an executive management role responsible for leading regional growth, strategic planning, business development, and team leadership within the architecture, engineering, and design industry, with a focus on expanding the firm's impact and maintaining design excellence across a specified geographic area.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a regional growth plan with a minimum of 10% year-over-year growth
- Build and lead a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive senior leadership team in the region
- Define and implement a strategic regional growth and business development plan
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities, target clients, and business lines to expand regional revenue
- Oversee and ensure quality, risk management, and best practices in project execution and business operations
- Represent the firm externally at events, conferences, and community engagements to promote brand and leadership presence
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree is required for this role. Advanced degrees are preferred.
- Generally, at least 20 years of related experience or equivalent is required.
- Experience working in the Architecture, Engineering, and Interior Design (A E I) industry is required.
- Proven track record of ability to lead and inspire others is required.
- Ability to develop and execute a strategic regional growth plan with a target of a minimum of 10% year-over-year growth.
- Experience in sourcing, building, and advancing a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive senior leadership team including region and office-based talent.
- Experience in defining and implementing business strategies and entrepreneurial initiatives focused on regional growth and impact.
- Ability to partner with Practice Leaders, Market Leaders, and Business Line Leaders to identify growth market opportunities, key target clients, and yearly Net Signed Fee targets that will grow the business volume of the region by a minimum of 10% annually.
- Experience evaluating and addressing senior talent needs in the region, including building strong leadership teams capable of expanding growth potential for markets, practices, and business lines.
- Ability to identify and develop new potential markets, practices, and business lines for investment and development.
- Experience in leading practices of project management, risk management, process improvement, project leadership, and financial stewardship, with accountability for achieving or exceeding profitability goals.
- Ability to represent the firm externally at community-based events, conferences, and broader events, and to communicate effectively through external venues.
- Ability to develop and execute internal communication processes to keep staff informed and foster collaboration.
- Demonstrated ownership and accountability in work and leadership roles.
- Excellent communication skills to energize, inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Ability to champion the firm’s Living-Centered Design ethos and promote design excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a strong external presence to support brand development.
- Ability to work in partnership with legal and business teams to review contracting and grant exceptions, ensuring compliance with firm and legal guidance.
