Assist in designing electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, communication, and fire alarm systems under supervision, while preparing technical documentation, reviewing shop drawings, and supporting construction site visits within a multidisciplinary engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
Design lighting, power distribution, communication, telecommunications, and fire alarm systems under supervision
Prepare technical design documentation
Review and markup shop drawing submittals
Produce quality drawings based on instructions and red lines
Recommend improvements for process, quality, and coordination
Visit job sites to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required by hire date
Related student internship work experience preferred
EIT (Engineer in Training) or FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) certification preferred
Must have strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Navisworks, or similar applications preferred
Under supervision, design lighting, power distribution, communication systems and or telecommunications systems, and fire alarm systems
Under supervision, prepare technical design documentation
Assist in the review and markup of shop drawing submittals
Produce quality drawings following red lines and verbal instructions
Apply basic understanding of National Electrical Code, chapters 2 and 3
May visit job site to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, including physical walk-through of site
Complete all mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes as a condition of employment
