This role involves preparing electrical construction drawings and specifications, designing electrical systems such as lighting and power distribution for various building projects, conducting site visits, and supporting project coordination under supervision within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare basic construction drawings and specifications of electrical systems for building projects
Design electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, communications, and fire alarm systems for various clients
Analyze engineering documents and layout systems regarding components and parts
Research and respond to design issues and apply electrical codes to building systems
Review and markup shop drawings and submittals
Gather information to respond to RFIs and review change orders for construction documents
Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress
Requirements
Minimum Bachelor in Engineering or Bachelor in Technology required
Minimum of 2 years of related work experience required
Must have strong communication, teamwork, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
Experience in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, Navisworks or similar applications preferred
Under supervision, prepare basic construction drawings and specifications of electrical engineering systems for building construction
Design lighting, power distribution, communications and telecommunication systems for healthcare, education higher education and commercial clients, including fire alarm systems
Analyze engineering documents and layout systems in regard to components and parts
Research and respond to design issues
Apply knowledge of electrical code for the application of building power distribution design and circuiting
Recommend improvements with reference standards and processes to improve quality, coordination, and to streamline production efforts
Assist in the review and markup of shop drawings and submittals
Assist in gathering information to respond to RFIs and review of change orders in the preparation of construction documents
Conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, including physical walk-through of site
Complete mandatory training, including compliance training, within required timeframes and adhere to internal policies and the Code of Conduct
