This role involves conducting on-site facility condition assessments of electrical and low-voltage systems across various building types, providing technical evaluations, identifying deficiencies, and recommending remedial actions, often requiring travel and physical activity in the field.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct on-site facility assessments of electrical and low-voltage systems in various building types.
Evaluate the condition, remaining useful life, and remedial measures for electrical systems.
Identify and describe deficiencies in electrical and low-voltage systems with technical detail.
Provide recommendations for corrections and future project planning.
Interview building operations and maintenance staff to gather historical and operational information.
Prepare project progress documentation for review by the project manager.
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
Direct experience in conducting architectural facility condition assessments is strongly preferred.
Experience assessing healthcare and educational institutions is strongly preferred.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required, as well as a clear aptitude for tablet and mobile device usage.
Willingness to travel up to 40% for out-of-town assignments, with projects typically including one week in the field followed by two weeks in the office.
Physically able to walk the stated areas each day, climb fixed and extension ladders, and walk on roof surfaces up to a 3 12 slope.
Registration, licensure, or technical certification in a related field is preferred.
Must be able to conduct on-site facility assessments of electrical and low-voltage systems, including evaluating building electrical systems such as emergency power, photovoltaic, fire alarm, security, data communication, and surveillance systems.
Ability to evaluate the condition, remaining useful life, required costs, and remedial measures for electrical and low-voltage systems.
Ability to identify deficiencies ranging from concerns to critical issues and provide technical recommendations with sufficient detail for future project planning and cost estimating.
Experience interviewing building operations and maintenance staff to determine building history, previous work orders, and operations information.
Must be physically able to perform field assessments, including walking, climbing ladders, and working on roof surfaces up to a 3 12 slope.
