Job Description

This role involves construction administration for healthcare or institutional projects, serving as a liaison between construction teams, clients, and design professionals to oversee quality, cost, and schedule during the construction phase, ensuring project compliance and successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the project during Construction Administration (CA) phase and administer construction contracts focusing on quality and cost control.
  • Act as on-site liaison among construction managers, general contractors, clients, consultants, and project teams.
  • Attend and participate in site meetings related to scheduling, cost management, RFIs, and project coordination.
  • Review and interpret construction documents, develop sketches for field conditions, and coordinate work with consultants and the project team.
  • Process, review, and respond to RFIs and submittals within contractual timeframes.
  • Resolve on-site problems, coordinate contract document bulletins, and consult leadership on project issues.
  • Monitor and perform periodic QA/QC site visits, including substantial presence during construction.
  • Coordinate with design team members to interpret and process project documents.
  • Prepare daily and other project reports as required by the contract.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate must be a highly qualified professional with a minimum of 10 years of related experience in construction administration.
  • Minimum educational requirement of a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
  • Experience in healthcare and/or institutional projects is strongly preferred.
  • Registration or Licensure in architecture, engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • LEED accreditation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements is required.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge, coordination skills, and the ability to build a rapport with the project team are essential.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam software is required.
  • Knowledge of Procore and ACC software is required.
  • Ability to perform in a Construction Administration role representing the firm project to client during the CA phase, including administering construction contracts, quality control, and cost control from project start-up to closeout.
  • Ability to attend and participate in site meetings including scheduling, cost management, pre-installation, RFI, and weekly Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings as required.
  • Ability to review and interpret construction documents, develop and issue sketches related to field conditions and issues, and coordinate work with consultants and the project team.
  • Ability to process, review, and respond to Requests for Information and submittals within contractual timeframes.
  • Ability to resolve problems on the jobsite, coordinate bulletins to contract documents, make recommendations, and consult senior construction administration leadership on project issues.
  • Perform periodic QA/QC construction site visits and monitor, review, and process closeout submittals.
  • Prepare daily and other reports as required by the contract.
  • Perform as an integral member of the internal construction administration team and adhere to established on-site project procedures and safety program requirements.
  • Work under the supervision of a Licensed Architect.
  • Must be able to perform physical demands associated with frequent presence at the construction site.
