Job Description
This role involves construction administration for healthcare and institutional projects, acting as a liaison on-site, managing contract and quality control, coordinating with project teams, and ensuring project compliance from start to finish under the supervision of a Licensed Architect.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the project during the Construction Administration (CA) phase and administer construction contracts focusing on quality and cost control.
- Act as a daily on-site liaison among construction managers, general contractors, clients, consultants, and project teams.
- Attend and participate in site meetings related to scheduling, cost management, RFIs, and project coordination.
- Review and interpret construction documents, develop sketches for field conditions, and coordinate work with consultants and the project team.
- Process, review, and respond to RFIs and submittals within contractual timeframes.
- Resolve on-site problems, coordinate contract document bulletins, and consult leadership on project issues.
- Monitor and perform periodic QA/QC site visits, including substantial presence during construction.
- Coordinate with design team members to interpret and process project documents.
- Prepare daily and other project reports as required by the contract.
Requirements
- Must be a highly qualified professional with the ability to perform in a Construction Administration role representing the firm project to client during CA phase, and be responsible for administering construction contracts on behalf of CannonDesign with particular focus on quality control and cost control from project start-up to closeout on projects.
- Be a daily, on-site liaison between construction managers general contractors, client owner, owner s consultants and AE teams.
- Attend site meetings including scheduling, cost management, pre-installation, RFI, and weekly Owner Architect Contractor meetings as required.
- Review and interpret construction documents and develop and issue sketches related to field conditions and issues, coordinate the work with consultants, owner s consultants and the project team.
- Process, review and answer Request for Information and submittals within the contractual timeframes.
- Resolve problems which arise on the jobsite, coordinate bulletins to the contract documents, make recommendations, and consult Sr. Construction Administration Leadership on all issues related to the project.
- Monitor, review, and process closeout submittals and perform periodic QA QC construction site visits, including substantial presence at the construction site.
- Coordinate with the Design team members as needed to interpret and process the documents noted above.
- Prepare daily and other reports as required by the contract.
- Perform as an integral member of the internal construction administration efforts and team.
- Adhere to established on-site project procedures and safety program requirements and work rules.
- Work under the supervision of a Licensed Architect.
- Hold a minimum Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field.
- Have at least 10 years of related experience.
- Possess healthcare and/or institutional project experience (strongly preferred).
- Registration or Licensure (preferred).
- LEED accreditation (preferred).
- Have knowledge of building codes and requirements.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Have technical knowledge, coordination skills, and the ability to build rapport with the project team.
- Be familiar with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam software.
- Have knowledge of Procore and ACC software.
