Job Description
This role involves providing strategic business development leadership within a regional or national market, focusing on client engagement, opportunity identification, and brand promotion for CannonDesign, with the goal of driving top-line growth and fostering long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support regional and firm-wide business development activities to identify and secure new client opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow top-line revenue, including personally securing a minimum of $3 million in net fee opportunities annually.
- Oversee pipeline management, ensuring a pipeline of qualified opportunities exceeds three times the office's annual net signed fees.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop pursuit strategies, including pre-positioning, proposal development, and client interviews.
- Build and maintain internal and external networks to enhance client relationships and market presence.
- Lead and facilitate client engagement meetings to advance marketing and business development efforts.
- Participate in annual business planning, aligning marketing budgets with strategic goals and monitoring expenditures.
- Strengthen the firm’s brand presence in the marketplace, promoting Living-Centered Design principles.
- Support the development of best practices for client pursuit and retention across the firm.
- Coordinate with regional and national leaders to ensure business development efforts align with overall growth strategies.
Requirements
- A minimum of 12 years of related work experience in marketing business development roles, preferably in the A E C industry.
- Proven experience in the development and implementation of marketing business plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CRM platforms, such as Salesforce, is a plus.
- Proven track record of developing significant relationships that increase the opportunity pipeline.
- Ability to develop, influence, and execute strategy with business acumen.
- Exceptional client and people leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional writing, presentation, speaking, and team-building skills.
- Ability to exercise good independent judgment and maintain confidentiality.
