Job Description
A senior process engineer responsible for process design, simulation modeling, and revamp evaluations of refining, petrochemical, and chemical facilities, including preparing PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specifications, while ensuring safety and compliance in field assignments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform process design for new and existing facilities, including simulation modeling and equipment evaluation.
- Prepare PFDs, Heat and Material Balances, and P&IDs for process facilities.
- Revamp existing process facilities through simulation modeling and updating process documentation.
- Evaluate existing equipment and perform hydraulic modeling to optimize process performance.
- Participate in safety reviews and evaluate relief systems.
- Ensure compliance with client-specific site requirements and safety protocols during field assignments.
Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in process design, including simulation modeling of process plant facilities such as refining, petrochemical, or chemical plants.
- Experience in process design for both new and existing facilities.
- Experience in simulation modeling for revamping existing facilities.
- Experience in evaluating existing equipment and hydraulic modeling.
- Experience in preparing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) for revamp conditions.
- Experience in updating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P IDs).
- Experience in preparing Instrumentation Process Data and Relief Systems Evaluation.
- Ability to participate in safety reviews related to process design.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments, including physical mobility on the ground and at heights, and the ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and work off platforms or scaffolding using appropriate fall protection.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, goggles, ear plugs, masks, respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and steel-toed work boots.
- Ability to position oneself to work in confined spaces.
- Willingness to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site.
- Willingness to meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site.
