Job Description
A senior process engineer responsible for process design, simulation modeling, and revamp evaluations of refining, petrochemical, and chemical facilities, including preparing process flow diagrams, heat and material balances, and equipment specifications to optimize plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform process design and simulation modeling for refining, petrochemical, and chemical facilities.
- Prepare PFDs, Heat and Material Balances, Equipment Specifications, and P&IDs.
- Evaluate existing equipment and perform hydraulic modeling for facility revamps.
- Update P&IDs and prepare instrumentation process data for new and existing facilities.
- Participate in safety reviews and assess relief systems.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in process design, including simulation modeling of process plant facilities such as refining, petrochemical, or chemical plants.
- Experience in process design for both new and existing facilities.
- Experience in simulation modeling for revamping existing facilities.
- Experience in evaluating existing equipment and hydraulic modeling.
- Experience in preparation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) for revamp conditions.
- Experience in updating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P IDs).
- Experience in preparation of Instrumentation Process Data.
- Experience in relief systems evaluation.
- Participation in safety reviews related to process facilities.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet all client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments, including physical mobility on the ground and at heights, and ability to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms or scaffolding using fall protection.
- Ability to work in confined spaces as required.
- Must be able to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site.
- Must meet the client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site.
