Job Description
A Lead Structural Engineer responsible for evaluating industrial structures, developing analytical models, designing rehabilitation plans, and providing technical support for construction projects, primarily in steel and concrete materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead field evaluation of existing industrial structures
- Develop calculations and analytical models for steel, concrete, and other materials
- Design rehabilitation or replacement plans for structures
- Specify materials and write technical reports
- Provide technical support and quality control during structural construction
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural engineering
- E.I.T. licensure required; P.E. licensure preferred
- Knowledge of STAAD SAP, ACI 318, AISC, ASCE-7, and IBC required
- Familiarity with AWS D.1. code required
- Basic team coordination experience required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead field evaluation of existing structures
- Ability to develop calculations and analytical models in steel, concrete, and other materials
- Ability to design rehabilitation and/or replacement plans, specify materials, and write reports
- Work under licensed P.E.s and S.E.s to progress towards professional licensure
- Must possess physical mobility on the ground and at heights
- Ability to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and occasionally work off platforms or scaffolding using appropriate fall protection
- Ability to work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, cold, and wind while wearing PPE
- Must be able to position oneself to work in confined spaces
- Must meet client-specific site requirements prior to deployment on field assignments
- Adherence to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site
- Meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site
