This role involves managing and overseeing geothermal-based mechanical systems and construction projects, ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction through effective coordination, site management, and technical expertise in renewable energy systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design geothermal-based mechanical systems for projects including new construction, renovation, and consulting.
Manage onsite geothermal and construction projects, ensuring field testing, drilling, and site operations meet project goals and specifications.
Develop and maintain field reports for testing and bore field updates.
Oversee project stakeholders, including engineering teams, subcontractors, and vendors, to create construction plans, budgets, and timelines.
Supervise on-site drilling operations and subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with scope, quality standards, and warranty guidelines.
Coordinate project deliverables and facilitate communication among stakeholders using project management tools.
Conduct site inspections, implement quality control measures, and address issues to ensure construction quality.
Manage resource allocation, including equipment, materials, and labor, to optimize efficiency and site readiness.
Enforce safety and quality control measures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
Proven experience as a Heavy Construction Manager in the renewable energy industry or similar heavy construction projects
Extensive experience in designing geothermal heat pump systems, specializing in ground loop heat exchanger design and sizing
Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies and construction methodologies
Excellent project management skills, including budgeting and scheduling
Familiarity with environmental regulations and safety standards
Effective leadership and communication skills
Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to travel to job sites, ensuring hands-on involvement and effective project management
Ability to oversee and manage geothermal and construction project onsite, ensuring field testing, drilling activities, and site operations meet project goals, customer specifications, and contractual requirements
Ability to develop and maintain field reporting trackers for testing and bore field updates
Ability to assist CPM in overseeing project stakeholders engineering, subcontractors, vendors, etc., to create detailed construction plans, budgets, and timelines that align with project objectives and customer expectations
Ability to supervise on-site drilling operations and subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with the project scope, quality standards, and warranty guidelines
Ability to coordinate project deliverables and facilitate effective communication using tools such as Monday.com and Procore
Ability to conduct regular site inspections, implement quality control measures, and promptly address any issues to ensure construction activities meet quality standards
Ability to oversee resource allocation, including equipment, materials, and labor, to optimize efficiency and reduce waste while ensuring site preparation and infrastructure readiness
Ability to enforce safety and quality control measures, maintaining compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and monitoring on-site safety protocols
Ability to facilitate regular stakeholder meetings to communicate project goals, progress updates, and resolve challenges
Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% to work on project sites in the greater Northeast Region and other locations as needed
Work a minimum of 30 hours per week with an expectation of an average of 40 hours, including overtime as scheduled

Ability to perform physical demands required for a safety-sensitive position, including site inspections and field work
