The Director of People Operations at Brightcore Energy oversees employee lifecycle processes, compliance, and employee relations across the organization, ensuring operational efficiency, legal adherence, and support for a multi-state construction workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and improve HR processes across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, leave administration, and offboarding.
Oversee employee relations, including performance issues, workplace investigations, and separations, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
Administer and maintain HR systems and workforce data, ensuring data accuracy, security, and generating analytics for leadership decision-making.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, conduct workforce reporting, and support regulatory audits.
Coordinate People practices across corporate and field environments, addressing workforce challenges in multi-site construction operations.
Partner with cross-functional teams such as Legal, Finance, Safety, and Operations to ensure consistent and compliant workforce practices.
Lead operational efforts related to workforce ramp-up and demobilization for construction projects, supporting operational scalability.
Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of progressive Human Resources or People Operations experience.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience supporting operational or field-based employee populations, with construction industry experience strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing employee relations, including investigations, corrective action, and performance management.
Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws, particularly New York employment regulations.
Proven ability to partner with leadership on people-related decisions and risk mitigation.
Strong judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential matters.
High emotional intelligence and ability to navigate complex employee and leadership dynamics.
Ability to operate independently while maintaining alignment with People team leadership.
Clear, professional communication skills with employees, managers, and executives.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems, preferably TriNet or similar PEO platforms.
Comfortable managing reporting, audits, and compliance documentation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR operational tools.
SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent certification preferred.
This position has supervisory responsibility.

Compensation salary range: $140,000 - $160,000 with eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus
Work schedule: Minimum 40 hours per week, with overtime pay for non-exempt employees and potential additional hours for exempt employees
