Job Description
The Terminal Operator at Aurora in Palmer, TX is responsible for preparing, inspecting, and maintaining autonomous vehicles and equipment, ensuring safe and efficient terminal operations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the deployment of self-driving technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, inspect, and monitor inbound and outbound autonomous vehicles, trailers, and equipment
- Operate Class-8 tractors within the yard
- Maintain a safe, efficient, and inclusive working environment
- Support the build-out of terminals to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Ferry hardware and equipment between facilities as needed
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete site and infrastructure upgrades
- Create reports on equipment and terminal maintenance, repairs, and safety incidents
Requirements
- Based in Palmer, TX with local, intra interstate travel required 30-50% of the time
- Minimum 3 years of experience driving trucks commercially
- Valid U.S. Driver's License with interstate Class-A Commercial Driver's License
- Driving record must pass Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) guidelines
- Must pass pre-employment, post-incident, and randomized drug testing in accordance with FMCSA requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must pass DOT physical and meet all DOT qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Proactive in finding creative solutions
- Self-starter who models the way
- Familiar and functional understanding of logistics dispatching processes, procedures, and tools
- Ability to operate independently without managerial oversight
- Thorough understanding and application of OSHA, DOT, FMCSA regulations with a working understanding of commercial vehicle equipment and inspection
