Job Description
The Staff Software Engineer will design, develop, and scale data systems for autonomous vehicle data management, working with large-scale multimodal sensor data, simulations, and ML datasets to improve data discoverability, throughput, and latency, while mentoring engineering teams and collaborating across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and scale data systems for offloading, ingesting, and managing large-scale multimodal sensor data, vehicle logs, simulations, and ML datasets.
- Improve discoverability, throughput, and latency of multi-modal offline data.
- Create internal tools and best practices to enhance efficiency, transparency, and innovation in data management.
- Mentor and develop engineering team members with new technologies and design approaches.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve department and company goals related to data systems.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in software engineering
- Proficiency in programming with GoLang and Python
- General knowledge of backend software systems including networking, load balancing, API gateways, system security, and gRPC services
- Experience with AWS infrastructure, specifically including S3 and DynamoDB, in a production commercial system
- Knowledge of database design, database management, and database scalability
- Knowledge about workflow orchestration pipelines such as Kubernetes and CI/CD tooling
- Comfortable working with Cloud Native services
- Comfortable working with Linux and other Unix environments
Benefits & Perks
Base salary range: $171,000.00 - $273,000.00 per year
