Job Description
The role involves managing the global supply chain for complex optical hardware and contract manufacturing, ensuring reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective sourcing and production of optical components and systems for self-driving technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the entire supply chain for optical subsystems and components, ensuring reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective supply at all stages.
- Partner with engineering teams to understand technology requirements and develop sourcing strategies for optical components and contract manufacturers.
- Oversee supply chain from prototype to production readiness, establishing a foundation for scaling.
- Manage relationships with optical suppliers and ensure contract manufacturers effectively manage their sub-tier supply base.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers and contract manufacturers to secure supply and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with legal teams to draft and finalize agreements securing pricing, capacity, and quality commitments.
- Monitor market conditions, technology roadmaps, and industry challenges to identify supply and demand opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with a proven track record of managing global supply chains.
- Deep understanding of optical systems and manufacturing, including components like lenses, mirrors, lasers, photodetectors, and processes for coatings and precision assembly.
- Demonstrated experience managing Contract Manufacturers for the production of complex, high-reliability products.
- Strong analytical and cost modeling skills, with the ability to perform detailed should-cost analysis.
- Exceptional ability to influence internal and external stakeholders, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Legal, and Finance.
- Tenacity in solving problems, with a resilient and adaptable can-do attitude in a dynamic environment.

Base salary range: $143,000 - $229,000 per year
