Job Description
The Software Engineer will work on integrating and optimizing hardware components such as sensors and embedded devices for Aurora's autonomous trucks, ensuring seamless hardware-software interaction and supporting vehicle platform bring-up and health monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate core hardware components such as Lidars, Radars, Cameras, and embedded devices into the Aurora Driver software stack.
- Support the initial software bring-up of new vehicle platforms, ensuring onboard compute and sensors are correctly configured and communicating.
- Optimize onboard software performance for efficient use of CPU, GPU, and memory resources.
- Develop and refine software tools to monitor real-time hardware health and telemetry for safe fleet operations.
- Utilize Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) environments to test and verify software changes against real hardware before deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in C programming language.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and memory management, demonstrated through academic or project-based experience.
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience, which can be demonstrated through multiple internships, significant academic research, or professional work involving hardware-software interaction.
- Experience working in a Linux environment with an understanding of command-line tools and system basics.
- Familiarity with the basics of data transport protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, or serial communication.

Base salary range: $116,000 - $174,000 per year
