Job Description
The Senior Staff Tech Lead Manager for Performance Engineering Optimization at Aurora is responsible for leading a team to develop tooling and processes that enhance onboard software performance, reduce latency, and improve hardware utilization for self-driving vehicles, while collaborating across engineering domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and define technical direction for the Performance Engineering Optimization team, including roadmap and milestone execution.
- Manage and support the career growth of a team of experienced engineers.
- Contribute to and lead the development of tooling and pipelines for performance data collection, analysis, and visualization.
- Build production-level tooling to diagnose and optimize software and hardware performance issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve onboard software latency and hardware utilization.
Requirements
- Strong C programming and software design skills on performance critical code.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience.
- Experience and knowledge of Linux fundamentals.
- Strong Linux fundamentals and solid grasp of performance tuning Linux based soft real time applications.
- Experience with modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with CUDA and/or GPU Profiling.

Compensation/salary range: 191,000 - 306,000 USD
