Job Description
The Senior Staff Tech Lead Manager for Performance Engineering Optimization at Aurora is responsible for leading a team focused on reducing onboard software latency and improving hardware utilization through developing tooling, data-driven performance experimentation, and cross-functional collaboration in the autonomous vehicle technology space.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and define the technical direction for the Performance Engineering Optimization team, including roadmap and milestone execution.
- Manage and mentor a team of experienced engineers, supporting their career growth.
- Contribute to technical development by building tooling and pipelines for performance data collection, analysis, and visualization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams in Autonomy, Sensing, and Vehicle Platform Infrastructure to optimize software performance.
- Own the delivery of initiatives aimed at reducing onboard software latency and improving hardware utilization.
Requirements
- Strong C programming and software design skills on performance critical code.
- BS, MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years of professional experience.
- Experience and knowledge of Linux fundamentals.
- Strong Linux fundamentals and solid grasp of performance tuning Linux based soft real time applications.
- Experience with modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with CUDA and or GPU Profiling.
Benefits & Perks
Base salary range: 191,000 - 306,000
