Job Description
The Senior Staff Tech Lead Manager for the Performance Engineering Optimization team at Aurora is responsible for leading a team of engineers to develop tools and processes that enhance onboard software performance, reduce latency, and improve hardware utilization for autonomous vehicles, while collaborating across various engineering domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and define the technical direction for the Performance Engineering Optimization team, including roadmap and milestone execution.
- Manage and oversee the professional growth of experienced engineers within the team.
- Contribute to and lead technical initiatives related to software performance tooling and data processing pipelines.
- Develop tooling to probe, collect, and visualize large volumes of performance data from on-vehicle and simulation environments.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering teams across Aurora to optimize software and hardware performance.
Requirements
- Strong C programming and software design skills on performance critical code.
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience.
- Experience and knowledge of Linux fundamentals.
- Strong Linux fundamentals and solid grasp of performance tuning Linux based soft real time applications.
- Experience with modern DevOps practices.
- Experience with CUDA and or GPU Profiling.
