Job Description
The Senior Manager of Fleet Maintenance Operations at Aurora is responsible for maximizing fleet utilization and uptime, leading maintenance strategies including third-party vendor management, and overseeing a geographically dispersed team to support autonomous vehicle operations and logistics services.
Key Responsibilities
- Maximize fleet utilization and uptime for autonomous vehicles, trailers, and auxiliary assets.
- Lead and manage a geographically dispersed team of operations professionals and technicians.
- Develop and execute strategies supporting the commercial delivery of logistics services.
- Establish and govern the Third Party Maintenance (TPM) strategy and framework.
- Develop processes for selecting, onboarding, and integrating TPM providers.
- Manage vendor performance, SLAs, and financial aspects of TPM providers.
- Oversee the implementation of maintenance and service operations for the fleet.
- Monitor and improve metrics related to service uptime, reliability, and asset utilization.
- Identify inefficiencies, establish best practices, and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to communicate field feedback and ensure operational effectiveness.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience leading and motivating an operations team through significant change and high customer expectations.
- Experience working in a highly technical environment, including experience managing technicians and reliability engineers.
- Experience working in the remote support model supporting users fleet from a remote location.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and empathize with a disparate population of employees working 24/7/365.
- Strong ability to communicate succinctly and effectively to various global audiences, from engineers to partners to C-level executives.
- Master collaborator with impeccable attention to detail and organization, with the ability to influence, motivate, and generate goodwill with teammates while juggling multiple projects at once.
- Strong ownership and bias for action, with the ability to work independently to drive progress.
- Experience building project plans and roadmaps with clear dependency management.
