Job Description
The Senior Engineering Technician will build and assemble self-driving vehicle hardware, including wiring harnesses and circuit boards, while collaborating with engineering teams to ensure quality and safety standards are met in a fast-paced research and development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and assemble Aurora's self-driving vehicle hardware, including vehicle build, sub-assembly, PCBA solder rework, and harness assembly
- Collaborate closely with Hardware Engineering and related teams to ensure quality and functionality
- Follow safety standards and meet internal project deadlines
- Maintain accurate documentation of work processes and assemblies
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and analyze electrical wiring and circuit issues
- Perform quality testing on harnesses and circuit boards
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in harness fabrication using 1 1 form boards and various tooling in R D and prototype spaces
- Strong electrical skills, ability to read wiring schematics and layouts, redline drawings, and communicate with EDS design engineers
- Strong background in electrical wiring, harness building, and surface-mount circuit board assembly
- Strong understanding of electrical tools and equipment including crimpers, dies, multimeter, presses, connectors, contacts, wire gauges/types, soldering tools, and microscopes
- Exceptional craftsmanship with the ability to pin out and quality test harnesses and circuit boards
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, PLM, CAD, and various other software tools
- Must possess excellent documentation practices
- Must possess excellent communication skills and self-awareness
- Ability to problem-solve, diagnose, analyze, and isolate problems rationally
- Proficiency with Windows and Google productivity Suite, specifically Sheets
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Approach work with a proactive, capable, and willingness attitude to solve problems and support peers
- Ability to multitask under pressure in an unstructured environment
