The Aurora Remote Assistance Specialist monitors and responds to autonomous vehicle trigger requests, ensuring safe operations and providing real-time feedback to engineers, while supporting the company's mission to advance self-driving technology and mobility solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and resolve trigger requests from fleet vehicles during testing and on public roads
Safely send remote commands to autonomous vehicles for testing purposes
Log real-time feedback on vehicle autonomy and platform performance for engineering review
Triage and review remote assist workflows to ensure performance metrics and compliance
Escalate operational issues with suggested solutions
Collaborate on cross-functional projects to improve vehicle operations
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of self-driving technology and operational changes
Interact with the public as an ambassador for Aurora
Requirements
Ability to constantly focus on a laptop monitoring proprietary tooling to aid autonomous vehicle operations
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Keen attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and make strategic decisions proactively
Consistent focus on safety
Ability to think critically
Willingness to learn every day
Valid U.S. driver s license with at least 5 years of driving history and a clean driving record, validated by MVR check
Must pass initial and random drug and alcohol screenings
Availability to work day or night shifts, including early mornings or late nights, on rotating shifts
Ability to work regular overtime and some weekends
Ability to safely monitor and resolve trigger requests from fleet vehicles across public roads and closed course testing sites
Ability to respond to and resolve trigger requests from autonomous vehicles in a timely manner
Ability to safely send remote commands to autonomous vehicles during testing
Log real-time feedback regarding autonomy and platform performance during testing for engineers
Triage and review of remote assist workflows related to performance metrics and compliance
Escalate operational blockers with suggested solutions
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of how the self-driving technology works, including daily software and operational changes
Work toward quantitative and qualitative goals impacting Vehicle Operations and Aurora
Interact with the public as an ambassador for Aurora
Be available to work in an in-office environment as required, with the ability to travel as needed
