Job Description
The Hardware Systems Quality Engineer at Aurora is responsible for ensuring quality in manufacturing, supply chain, and vehicle integration for the Aurora Driver, involving testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced autonomous vehicle environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure quality in manufacturing, supply chain, and vehicle integration for Aurora Driver development and production
- Lead, develop, and support test and inspection plans according to specifications
- Perform tests and inspections, analyze data, and document results
- Troubleshoot, debug, and perform root cause analysis for hardware and software faults
- Conduct cable and harness assembly testing and troubleshooting
- Operate inspection and test fixtures or equipment and train others as needed
- Support activities related to non-conforming products and returned material authorization
- Participate in audit and manufacturing process audit activities
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in quality, autonomous vehicle manufacturing, electro-mechanical assembly operations, robotics or equivalent field experience.
- Experience with programming and scripting in C, Python or equivalent.
- Experience debugging complex electronic assemblies and/or manufacturing cable assemblies.
- Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
Benefits & Perks
Base salary range: $112,000 - $180,000 per year

Hybrid work environment with in-office presence at least 3 days per week
