Job Description
The Fleet Operations Technician at Aurora is responsible for maintaining and repairing autonomous vehicle fleet vehicles, performing diagnostics, routine OEM maintenance, and collaborating with hardware and software teams to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, vehicle upgrades, and test-plans in collaboration with Vehicle Operations, Software, and Hardware teams
- Conduct routine OEM maintenance and complex mechanical and electrical repairs
- Document and communicate repair findings and escalate data when necessary
- Ensure quality service and repairs while working cross-functionally
- Maintain a clean and professional workspace
- Assemble or build parts and jigs for prototypes using mechanical fabrication tools
- Build and set up test rigs for mechanical and electrical testing across teams
- Provide feedback and suggest improvements to workshop standards, protocols, and processes
Requirements
- At least 3-6 years OEM Technician Experience
- At least 2 years diesel experience
- Solid diagnostics chops and experience using OEM diagnostic tools, methodologies, and a logical troubleshooting approach
- Valid US driver s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and or sit frequently throughout the duration of the day
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Ability to travel as needed
- Available to work day or night shifts, including early mornings or late nights, on rotating shifts
- Ability to work regular overtime and some weekends
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization
- Must be safety conscious and have knowledge of general shop safety
- Basic Knowledge of DOT and CVSA rules and requirements
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour, plus eligibility for an annual bonus and equity compensation
Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 11:00am - 8:00pm CT, with ability to work early mornings, late nights, rotating shifts, overtime, and some weekends
