Job Description
The Fleet Operations Technician at Aurora is responsible for maintaining and repairing autonomous vehicle fleets, performing diagnostics, routine OEM maintenance, and hardware upgrades, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, vehicle upgrades, and test-plans in collaboration with Vehicle Operations, Software, and Hardware teams
- Conduct routine OEM maintenance and complex mechanical and electrical repairs
- Document and communicate repair findings and escalate issues when necessary
- Maintain a clean and professional workspace while ensuring quality service and repairs
- Assemble or build parts and jigs for prototypes and testing procedures
- Build and set up test rigs for mechanical and electrical testing across multiple teams
- Provide feedback and suggest improvements to workshop standards, protocols, and processes
Requirements
- At least 1-2 years OEM technician experience or related experience in heavy vehicle maintenance
- Intermediate diagnostics skills using OEM diagnostic tools, methodologies, and a logical troubleshooting approach
- Valid US driver s license
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic workshop etiquette and safety procedures, including general shop safety and DOT and CVSA rules and requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb, and/or sit frequently throughout the day
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Ability to work rotating shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $30.00 - $36.00 per hour, with eligibility for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits
Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 12:00pm - 9:00pm CT, with ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
