Job Description
The Dispatcher role at Aurora involves managing daily vehicle operations, coordinating fleet activities, ensuring safety and compliance, leading and motivating a team, and continuously improving operational processes within a self-driving technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily dispatch operations, including mission prioritization and assignment
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure fleet efficiency
- Lead meetings and communicate operational updates effectively
- Ensure compliance with global process standards and safety protocols
- Respond to emergency situations with composure and appropriate action
- Motivate and lead the operations team to meet goals and drive continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes and increase efficiency
- Monitor self-driving technology and stay updated on operational changes
- Facilitate process improvements and support operational initiatives
- Maintain clear and regular communication with leadership and stakeholders
Requirements
- Support the operations team during the daily management of dispatch, including mission prioritization and assignment, leading meetings, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance throughout the site to global process standards and work on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Be a support outlet for operations, and be able to respond and handle emergency situations with composure.
- Motivate a group of individuals to meet team and company goals.
- Initiate, commence, and complete side projects based on project needs and operational priorities.
- Ensure a safety first approach is being adopted by the team.
- Thoroughly understand how Aurora's self-driving technology works.
- Stay on top of countless daily changes, both big and small.
- Facilitate continuous process improvement.
- Lead the team to meet quantitative and qualitative goals.
- Drive efficiency gains, find opportunities to refine processes and maximize effort.
- Communicate clearly, efficiently, and regularly to operations leadership and any other stakeholders.
- Work as a team and ultimately win together.
- Strong communication skills, ability to prioritize, attention to detail, good judgment, and initiative.
- Exceptional leadership skills and ability to make command decisions, lead by example, and motivate teams.
- Safety first focus.
- Ability to monitor alpha software on a laptop and type in a moving vehicle for extended periods of time.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset by coaching and mentoring colleagues to bring out the best from the team.
- Conflict management and resolution experience.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment.
- Flexibility for day, night, and/or weekend work, not always planned far in advance.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
- Ability to work day or night shifts and weekends.
Benefits & Perks
Hourly wage range of $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
Eligibility for an annual bonus
Eligibility for equity compensation
Hybrid work environment with in-office presence at least 3 days per week
Potential for up to 30 days of travel
