Job Description

A Survey Project Manager at Atwell, LLC oversees survey projects related to land development and renewable energy, managing teams, reviewing survey data, and utilizing industry software to ensure project success in a collaborative and flexible work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate with a team to draft, review, and finalize site plans and construction documents.
  • Review project survey data using industry software and technology.
  • Analyze existing site conditions, legal descriptions, easements, and related documents for development considerations.
  • Supervise survey crews, technicians, and office staff to ensure project execution.
  • Oversee large-scale ALTA surveys related to solar or wind energy projects.
  • Provide construction-related services, including permit applications, quantity estimates, and transmittals.
  • Organize and assemble site plans, construction plans, and related documents.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments within standards and budgets.
  • Mentor staff in training, career development, and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Hold a Professional Survey License (PLS or RLS).
  • Have at least 8 years of survey industry-related work experience.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop a growing team.
  • Prior experience working with Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
  • Have an advanced understanding of Boundary Surveys, ALTA Surveys, Construction Staking, Leveling, Traversing, GPS, Data Collections, Legal Descriptions, Plan interpretations, along with Real Estate Documents.
  • Ability to review project survey data utilizing the latest technology and industry software.
  • Ability to analyze existing site conditions and factors to consider for development including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and supervise survey crews, technicians, and office staff members.
  • Provide oversight on large-scale ALTA surveys related to solar or wind power generation (preferred).
  • Provide construction-related services and guide junior team members to complete permit applications, cut sheets, quantity estimates, transmittals, organize site plans, construction plans, construction sheet setup and assembly, and other related construction documents.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software packages to complete assignments on time and within prescribed standards and budgets.
  • Attend paid training and development events, industry conferences, and networking opportunities.
  • Play a role as a subject matter expert and mentor, assisting with staff's new hire training, career planning, and continuous professional development.
