Job Description
The Survey Party Chief oversees and performs various surveying tasks such as topographic, boundary, route, and construction surveys, ensuring safety, accuracy, and adherence to company procedures while leading field crew members and maintaining equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform topographic, mapping, boundary, route, construction staking, and as-built surveys.
- Utilize and maintain surveying equipment such as total stations, RTK systems, and data collectors.
- Lead and supervise survey party members, ensuring adherence to procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain detailed field notes, sketches, drawings, and site photographs according to standards.
- Ensure surveying equipment is calibrated, in good condition, and functioning properly.
- Collect, document, and verify survey data accurately and comprehensively.
- Download and organize survey data, notes, sketches, and photographs at the end of each workday.
- Enter administrative records including time, expenses, and safety documentation.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of survey experience as a Party Chief
- A strong background in surveying techniques and equipment operation, including all aspects of pipeline surveying
- Proficiency in maintaining and using various surveying tools, with Trimble preferred
- Leadership skills to guide survey party members
- Exceptional documentation and reporting abilities
- Diligence in equipment maintenance and calibration
- Hold a valid Driver's License
- Pass drug screening
