Job Description
Assist field crew chiefs with surveying services including houseline, topographic, boundary, and wetland surveys, while supporting equipment maintenance, data collection, and project documentation in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist crew chiefs with houseline, topographic, tree, wetland, boundary, and ALTA surveys
- Maintain and properly care for field survey instruments and equipment
- Accurately record and file field notes and sketches
- Upload and download calibration files for survey equipment
- Stock company vehicle with supplies and equipment each morning
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of timesheets with detailed project descriptions
- Coordinate with staff and site superintendents to support project needs
- Operate survey instruments and perform field measurements in various weather conditions
- Support construction staking and record drawing activities
Requirements
- Possess a valid driver s license.
- Possess a high school diploma.
- Available to work overtime as needed to complete projects.
- Available to work in the field in all weather conditions.
- Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework.
- Desire to learn and improve field skills and survey knowledge.
- Fluent in the English language.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
