Job Description

The Survey CAD Technician at Atwell, LLC is responsible for producing and analyzing survey drawings and data using AutoCAD Civil 3D, supporting land development, renewable energy, and construction projects, while collaborating with project teams to ensure accurate and efficient workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software to produce project drawings such as ALTA surveys, final plats, maps of dedication, and construction layouts.
  • Review and analyze survey data to assess existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, easements, and survey documents.
  • Edit and modify plans based on revisions from agencies, municipalities, and clients following provided directives.
  • Support design staff by guiding drafting practices and procedures.
  • Coordinate workflow and communicate with Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure project progress and meet chargeability goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of previous AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center (TBC) is preferred
  • High School Diploma is required; an Associate Degree is preferred
  • Thorough understanding of ALTA surveys, topographical surveys, boundaries, and construction staking
  • Ability to generate various project-specific drawings, including ALTA, Final Plats, Maps of Dedication, construction layouts, and construction staking
  • Ability to review project survey data to analyze existing site conditions, considering legal descriptions, easement documents, condo documents, and survey data
  • Skill in editing and modifying plans in line with revisions from agencies, municipalities, and clients, following directives closely
  • Ability to maintain open communication with Project Managers and Team Leaders regarding workflow status to ensure team meets chargeability goals
