Job Description
A Structural Designer at Atwell, LLC is responsible for executing and coordinating structural design efforts for oil and gas infrastructure projects, including pipelines and facilities, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client specifications from concept through construction documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and implement structural design input from Lead Structural Engineer for oil and gas facilities.
- Develop detailed construction documents, including structural plans, sections, and connection details.
- Revise drawings based on redlines and coordinate updates across disciplines.
- Perform field visits to verify existing conditions and support as-built documentation.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring high-quality deliverables and deadlines.
- Maintain and organize structural detail libraries and base files for consistency and efficiency.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Mechanical or Structural Drafting Design Technology, or a related field preferred
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and structural plan sets, particularly for oil and gas facilities such as pipelines, terminals, and process plants
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor versions 2021, 2022, or 2023 is required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience using AutoCAD and/or CADWorx for industrial structural or piping design
- Ability to perform under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Willingness to learn and grow within a collaborative design team
