Job Description
A Civil Structural Engineer PE is responsible for leading the design and engineering of oil and gas infrastructure projects, including pipelines, facilities, and structural systems, ensuring compliance with codes, managing project execution, and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil and structural engineering design for oil and gas infrastructure projects
- Develop construction documents including structural plans, general arrangements, and connection details
- Perform structural analysis under various loading conditions in accordance with applicable codes
- Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, and reports
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate structural requirements
- Conduct field visits to verify as-built conditions and gather site data
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
- Support quality assurance by implementing QA/QC procedures
Requirements
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in civil structural engineering for oil and gas facilities or similar industrial infrastructure.
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Proficient in structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, RISA, SAP2000, or similar.
- Working knowledge of CAD software tools including AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Civil 3D.
- Must have a strong knowledge of applicable design codes including AISC, ACI, ASCE, API, and IBC.
