Job Description
The Office Project Manager supports large utility-scale renewable energy projects by coordinating project controls, engineering, documentation, and stakeholder communication from the owner's side, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence while making site visits as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee owner-led engineering activities, integrating technical, environmental, schedule, and documentation efforts.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including electrical, civil, environmental, and permitting to ensure aligned project deliverables.
- Manage project controls such as baselines, milestones, cash flow, and earned value tracking.
- Lead RFI workflows, drawing reviews, comment resolution, and close-out documentation processes.
- Support scope changes, contract modifications, pay application reviews, and cost forecasting.
- Serve as the primary contact for stakeholders including EPCs, OEMs, and third-party providers.
- Prepare status reports, risk registers, decision logs, and briefings for leadership.
- Oversee quality assurance, commissioning readiness, and turnover documentation to ensure compliance and readiness.
- Conduct periodic site visits to verify project progress, safety, and quality, and facilitate issue resolution.
Requirements
- Seven (7) years of experience on utility-scale renewable projects including solar PV, wind, BESS, substations, and transmission, with exposure to civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes.
- Technical familiarity with PV modules, trackers, inverters, MV transformers, substations, MPT, GSU, BESS, and SCADA; exposure to these systems is a plus.
- Proficiency with construction document control and project management software such as Procore, Aconex, SharePoint, scheduling tools like MS Project or Primavera, and Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- OSHA 30 certification, NFPA 70E, and First Aid CPR AED certification, or willingness to obtain these certifications.
- Ability to conduct periodic site visits across Texas as needed.
- Experience in contract RFI submittal, change-order management, schedule and budget control, risk identification and mitigation, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
