Job Description
The Project Manager role in Atwell's Civil Engineering group involves leading diverse engineering projects, collaborating with teams on site plans and construction documents, analyzing survey data, mentoring junior staff, and utilizing engineering software to deliver technical reports and support construction activities, with opportunities for professional growth into a Project Manager position.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the production team to draft, review, and finalize site plans and construction documents
- Analyze survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, easements, and condo documents
- Guide and assist junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient completion of project tasks
- Prepare engineering reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology studies and storm sewer reports
- Provide construction-related services, including permit applications and quantity estimates
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
- Develop project management skills through training and mentoring with the potential to advance to a Project Manager role
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional engineering license (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure within a specified timeframe.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil engineering, land development, or related projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages.
- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents.
- Ability to analyze project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents.
- Experience in preparing reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, and storm sewer reports.
- Ability to provide construction support including permit applications and quantity estimates.
- Experience in guiding and assisting junior staff members to ensure project tasks are executed accurately and efficiently.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide team members.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with production teams and clients.
- Physical ability to support construction-related activities and site visits as required.
- Willingness to develop project management skills through training and mentoring with the potential to grow into a Project Manager role.
