Job Description
The Project Manager in Atwell's Civil Engineering group oversees diverse land development projects, collaborating with teams, analyzing survey data, providing technical reports, supporting construction activities, and mentoring junior staff, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the production team to draft, review, and finalize site plans and construction documents
- Analyze project survey data and existing site conditions, including legal descriptions, surveys, and easement documents
- Guide and assist junior staff to ensure accurate and efficient execution of project tasks
- Prepare engineering reports, opinions, and recommendations such as hydrology studies and storm sewer reports
- Provide construction support, including permit applications and quantity estimates
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to complete assignments on time and within budget
- Develop project management skills through training and mentoring with potential to advance to Project Manager
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional engineering license (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure within a specified timeframe.
- Experience in civil engineering project management, including assisting with drafting, reviewing, and finalizing preliminary and final site plans and construction documents.
- Proficiency in analyzing project survey data, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents.
- Ability to guide and assist junior staff members to ensure project tasks are executed accurately and efficiently.
- Technical skills to prepare reports, opinions, and recommendations related to hydrology hydraulic studies, project schedules, storm sewer reports, and other engineering analyses.
- Experience providing construction support services, including permit applications and quantity estimates.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD Civil 3D and various engineering software packages to complete assignments on time and within budget.
- Willingness and ability to develop project management skills through training and mentoring, with the potential to grow into a Project Manager role.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with production teams and clients.
- Physical ability to perform site visits and fieldwork as required by project needs.
