Job Description
The Project Engineer will lead civil engineering projects focused on public infrastructure such as roads, utilities, and stormwater systems, managing the design, permitting, and stakeholder engagement to support community development and firm growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil engineering projects focused on public infrastructure such as roadways, utilities, stormwater management, and municipal facilities
- Apply engineering principles to design and develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates for infrastructure projects
- Manage projects throughout their lifecycle from planning to construction, ensuring compliance with budgets, schedules, and regulations
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Navigate permitting processes and ensure regulatory compliance for public infrastructure projects
- Build and maintain relationships with municipal clients, public agencies, and community stakeholders
- Assist in business development by identifying new project opportunities and preparing proposals
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an EAC ABET Accredited University
- Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure is required
- Experience with public works projects, preferably in Washington State
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD (preferred)
- Ability to apply engineering principles and best practices to public works projects, including roadway design, water and wastewater systems, stormwater management, and site grading
- Experience managing projects from planning and preliminary design through construction administration, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to prepare and review design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for municipal and transportation infrastructure projects
- Experience navigating local and county-level permitting processes for public infrastructure projects
- Ability to work with municipal agencies, DOT, and other government entities to secure approvals and ensure regulatory compliance
- Ability to develop innovative solutions to address complex permitting and environmental challenges
- Strong client and stakeholder engagement skills, including building and maintaining relationships with municipal clients, public agencies, and community stakeholders
- Ability to assist in business development by identifying new opportunities and preparing proposals for public works projects
