Job Description
The Design Associate at Atwell, LLC is a developmental landscape architectural role supporting project teams through design, drafting, and technical tasks using AutoCAD and related software, with opportunities to grow in various design phases and technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project teams by designing portions of landscape architecture projects.
- Utilize AutoCAD and related software to complete design assignments within standards.
- Draft and modify design documents and computations.
- Participate in all design phases from conceptual to construction administration.
- Translate abstract sketches into digital design documents.
- Prepare opinions of probable costs and project schedules.
- Complete edits and modifications to plans as reviewed by agencies, municipalities, and clients.
- Conduct site visits and perform site walks.
- Communicate with the Project Manager regarding workload, schedule, and tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field and or equivalent experience
- 0-2 years of practical experience in related field
- Ability to apply fundamental design concepts to practical situations utilizing your background and or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD and related software to complete assignments on time and within prescribed standards as outlined in the Atwell Quality Assurance Quality Control manual and established standards
- Ability to provide support in Drafting Documents and computations
- Participation in the Design process including understanding of the industry standard Conceptual through Construction Administration design phases
- Ability to intelligently translate abstract design sketches from colleagues into functioning digital design documents
- Ability to prepare opinions of probable costs, project schedules, and construction-related services
- Ability to complete edits and modify plans as reviewed by agencies, municipalities, and clients as directed
- Ability to perform site visits and site walks as required
- Effective communication with Project Manager on workload status, schedule, and tasks to meet designated chargeability goals
- Advanced understanding of technical skills including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Technical Writing, Revit, Lumion, and MS Office
- Physical ability to perform site visits and site walks as required
