Job Description

The Senior Field Technician at Atwell, LLC is responsible for leading testing, inspection, and commissioning activities of electrical systems and equipment, mentoring junior technicians, and supporting project execution in the Pacific Northwest region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems
  • Mentor and train entry- to mid-level technicians through formal and on-the-job training
  • Perform visual mechanical inspections and electrical testing on equipment and circuits
  • Assist project managers with scheduling, budgeting, and billing activities
  • Understand contractual scope and initiate change order requests when work exceeds scope
  • Oversee the upkeep, calibration, and readiness of electrical test equipment
  • Communicate test issues and failures to clients, recommend corrective actions, and review test reports

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant electrical field experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong documentation discipline
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and comply with random testing per client requirements
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. with E-Verify or comparable government screening
  • Ability to lead testing, inspection, and commissioning activities on electrical equipment and systems including substations and data centers
  • Experience performing visual mechanical inspections and electrical testing on standard equipment and circuits, including meter calibrations, electromechanical and solid-state protective relays, and power quality load monitoring
  • Ability to understand contractual scope of work and initiate Change Order Requests when work exceeds scope
  • Ability to oversee upkeep, calibration, and readiness of electrical test equipment and direct staging of tools and materials
  • Strong communication skills for reporting issues, flagging test failures, recommending corrective actions, and reviewing test reports and data sheets
  • Ability to work independently in the field while coaching others
  • NETA certification is highly preferred
  • Physical ability to work in the field for extended periods, typically four to five weeks on with a week off
